TELEHEALTH

To adapt to our rapidly evolving working and living environment, Mill Park Physiotherapy has introduced Telehealth as a way of providing our expertise to clients when attending the clinic is not possible.

Telehealth is a means of providing physiotherapy using Information and Communication Technologies (ICT). The service can occur over the phone, or via video call utilising a smart phone, desktop/laptop or iPad/tablet with a camera attached. Telehealth enables your physiotherapist to assess and diagnose your condition/injury when you are unable to attend a face-to-face consultation, and has been shown to be both safe and effective. It also allows for the provision of appropriate exercises and education/advice to best help you manage your condition.

What can be provided in Telehealth consults?

  • Confidential and safe 1:1 injury assessment/diagnosis

  • Personalised advice and injury management plan

  • Home exercise prescription using Physitrack: digital exercise software, readily accessible on your phone or computer via the PhysiAPP

  • Personalised 1:1 exercise session from home utilising a range of resistance bands (available for purchase at at MPP) and/or other equipment you may have at home. Exercises are prescribed to address your own specific goals

  • Correcting exercise technique and movement patterns

  • Workstation or home computer assessment and set up advice

  • Second opinions or referrals to the relevant healthcare provider as needed

Who is eligible?

  • If you are a WorkCover or TAC client, Telehealth will be covered under your current claim

  • If you are a privately-paying client, you will receive benefits from a range of private health insurance companies until 30th September 2020, provided that:

    • You are an existing customer at Mill Park Physiotherapy and have been seeing your physiotherapist for over 6 months for treatment
